Role of BMO for Women in the Funding Ecosystem

The program brings together capital, guidance, and connection to help women-owned ventures grow at every stage of their business journey.
BMO Celebrating Women Grant Program
The flagship grant program provides $10,000 CAD to ten Canadian women-owned businesses annually. Since its inception in 2020, the program has supported numerous women entrepreneurs across various sectors. The 2025 program focuses on businesses addressing United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), including gender equality, decent work, and sustainable communities.

- $10,000 CAD monetary grant
- One hour of coaching with a BMO for Women Advocate
- Invitation to webinar series
- Profile on BMOforWomen.com and BMO social channels
- 2025 BMO Celebrating Women Grant Recipient badge

Total approximate value: up to $11,700 CAD per recipient.
Eligibility Criteria
Businesses must be at least 51% owned and controlled by women, non-binary individuals, or trans women. The business must be for-profit, operating in Canada for a minimum of 2 years, with annual revenue of $50,000+ CAD, and have its headquarters in Canada.
Impact and Reach
Since 2012, BMO has recognized the achievements of over 265 women through the broader Celebrating Women Program. The grant program, created in 2020 during the pandemic, continues to empower women entrepreneurs across Canada.
