Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Publicly funded universities and colleges
  • Public hospitals with a specialized research area
  • Not-for-profit and registered charitable organizations
  • Canadian non-governmental organizations
  • Qualified educators, trainers, and healthcare professionals

Who is not eligible

  • Private organizations applying as Project Lead for a research grant
  • Projects that would replace WSIB Work Reintegration services

Eligible expenses

  • Project team salaries and honoraria for eligible staff
  • Limited benefits on salary support
  • Project-related equipment purchases
  • Conference registration or publication fees
  • Publication costs for research results

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Travel, meals, accommodation, hospitality, entertainment, and gifts, unless specifically approved in the budget for project activity
  • Consulting fees
  • Administration or tuition fees
  • Capital, overhead, and maintenance costs
  • Purchases of publications, memberships, and most office supplies

How to apply

  • Step 1: Register online
    • Create a profile in the WSIB grant management system.
  • Step 2: Complete the initial proposal
    • Review the WSIB Annual Grants Competition instructions.
    • Answer all application tasks and questions.
    • Include required signatures and complete all sections.
  • Step 3: Submit the proposal
    • Submit the application through the online system by the deadline.
  • Step 4: Continue if invited
    • Provide additional information and a detailed proposal if selected.

Processing and Agreement
