  • Workplaces without dedicated employee parking
  • Sites with fewer than five on-site employees
  • Leased charging stations
  • Tesla charging stations

Eligible expenses

  • Charging station purchase
  • Installation labour and construction
  • Site assessment and electrical design
  • Electrical permits and EV parking signage
  • Network connection fees, up to two years

How to apply

  • Step 1: Pre-approval application
    • Start the pre-approval application online.
    • Provide contact details, workplace information, and work details.
    • Upload the quote of work from a licensed electrical contractor.
  • Step 2: Receive pre-approval decision
    • Wait for BC Hydro to review the application.
    • Receive an email with the pre-approval decision and next steps.
  • Step 3: Complete installation and final application
    • Purchase and install the chargers after pre-approval.
    • Submit the final application with invoices, photos, connectivity proof, and permit number.

Processing and Agreement

  • Pre-approval is reviewed after the initial application is submitted
  • An email decision is sent within 30 days
  • If approved, next steps and completion deadlines are provided
  • After installation, a final application and documents are reviewed
  • Rebate payment is processed within 90 days if approved

Additional information

  • Pre-approval from BC Hydro is required before purchasing or installing chargers.
  • Workplaces can receive up to five free hours with an EV advisor.
  • Additional EV advisor support is available at an hourly rate.
  • The rebate can be combined with other incentives, up to the total cost of equipment and installation.
