  • Organizations from the Global North operating in ODA-eligible countries

  • United Nations agencies

Eligible expenses

  • Learning activities and knowledge-sharing costs
  • Online portal creation and maintenance
  • Translation and communications materials
  • Global convening and regional meeting costs
  • Personnel costs and consultancy support within the budget

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • University of Nations agencies
  • Travel costs for participants of the global meeting are not covered by the hub budget
  • Projects or activities outside the learning partnership mandate

Selection criteria

  • Organizational commitment and expected impact - 20%
  • Project team composition - 20%
  • Project design and approach - 40%
  • Monitoring, evaluation and learning - 20%

    • Review the application questions before starting
  • Step 2: Complete the online application
    • Answer the full list of questions in the application form
  • Step 3: Submit through SurveyMonkey Apply
    • Send the application online before the deadline

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are first checked for eligibility and completeness
  • Eligible proposals are reviewed and ranked by IDRC staff
  • Top proposals are discussed with Global Affairs Canada for advice
  • IDRC makes the final funding decision and notifies applicants
  • The selected applicant signs a grant agreement before the inception phase begins

Additional information

  • The selected applicant will undergo an institutional and financial assessment before the grant agreement is finalized.
  • The project will follow a three-month inception phase after selection.
  • Open access publication of project outputs is required.
  • An advisory committee will be set up, chaired by IDRC.
