Eligibility

The applicant must identify as a woman.
The applicant must be studying in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics) program as defined by Statistics Canada.
The applicant must be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident, or Protected Person.
The applicant must be a resident of Alberta under specific residency requirements.
The applicant must be registered (full or part-time) at an approved post-secondary institution located in Alberta, including recognized apprenticeship programs.

Scholarship funds to support studies in an approved STEM program at an eligible Alberta post-secondary institution.

Priority given to candidates who have not already received the scholarship for women in STEM.

Request a GATE username and password during the scholarship's open intake period
Click on the "Request an account" button to register
Do not send an email requesting a login
The username and password will be sent to your email within 2 business days

Complete and submit application

Log in to the GATE system with your received username and password
Complete the online application form
Provide all required information and documentation

Additional information

Intake for the 2025-26 academic year is open from September 15 to October 31, 2025.
Previous recipients may reapply; however, priority is given to those who have not previously received the scholarship.
Applicants may apply to multiple scholarships (Women in STEM, Persons Case, Women in Technical and Applied Arts), but can only receive one in the same calendar year.
