  • Crop loss compensation based on wildlife damage.
  • Livestock injury or death compensation caused by predators.
  • Veterinary costs for injured animals.
  • Approved wildlife damage prevention measures, including fencing and guardian dog support.

  • Labour costs for fence installation.
  • GST, travel, tools, and replacement batteries for existing fencers.
  • Fence for grain bag storage.
  • Claims without sufficient evidence of a predator attack.
  • Volunteer crops, late-planted crops, unsuitable land, or crops left after harvest is generally completed.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Report the damage

    • Preserve carcass evidence, photos, receipts, or other required proof.
  • Step 3: Complete assessment
    • Cooperate with the adjuster or inspector during the review.
    • Provide any requested supporting information for the claim.
  • Step 4: Receive compensation or reimbursement
    • Wait for SCIC’s decision after the assessment is completed.
    • For prevention support, submit the required form and supporting receipts where applicable.

Processing and Agreement

  • Damage must be reported to SCIC as soon as it is detected.
  • An adjuster or inspector reviews the damage and supporting evidence.
  • Claim assessments are based on observed evidence and yield loss or carcass evidence, depending on the claim type.
