The program offers up to $25,000 for one-year program and innovation funding to support charities helping youth ages 9 to 22 build future-ready skills. It supports existing youth programs with outcomes, new approaches backed by evidence of need, and multi-year impact work to deepen or scale proven results, including capacity-building and effectiveness measurement.
Activities funded
- Delivery of existing programs that work directly with youth and demonstrate outcomes.
- Piloting or testing new approaches to reduce barriers and create opportunities for youth.
- Initiatives that build practical job skills for youth.
- Initiatives that build life skills for independent living, social-emotional learning, and leadership skills.
- Initiatives that build skills in civic and community engagement for youth.

Eligibility
- The applicant must be a charity.
- The charity must be based in Alberta or (if regional/national) offer programs in Alberta.
- The proposed work must reduce barriers and create opportunities for youth ages 9 to 22.
- The program focus must support youth skill development (e.g., job, life, social-emotional, leadership, civic/community engagement skills).
- For one-year program funding, the program must be existing and have demonstrable outcomes.

- Evidence of need for the innovation (One-Year Innovation Grants).
- Demonstration that the innovation is not duplicating existing work (One-Year Innovation Grants).
- Demonstration of predicted outcomes of the new approach (One-Year Innovation Grants).
- Demonstrable outcomes for existing programs working directly with youth (One-Year Program Grants).
- Demonstrable and sustainable social impact, with plans to deepen or scale proven results (Multi-Year Impact Grants).
How to apply
Step 1: Submit expression of interest
- Prepare a short description of the charity.
- Submit the expression of interest for initial fit and alignment review.
- Compile detailed information about the charity.
- Compile detailed information on the program(s) requiring funding.
- Submit the full application when invited by the Foundation.
Processing and Agreement
- Submitted expressions of interest are reviewed to confirm fit with funding requirements and the Foundation’s mission.
- Only applicants that meet requirements are invited to submit a full application.
- Full applications are reviewed based on detailed information about the charity and the program(s) requiring funding.
- Funding decisions are indicated as occurring in December for one-year streams and by June for multi-year impact funding.
