This program offers up to $50,000 to support projects that strengthen community resilience to extreme weather in Canada. Funded activities must mitigate or help communities adapt to climate impacts such as floods, wildfires, tornadoes, and hailstorms.
Activities funded
- Projects that help communities adapt to extreme weather impacts (e.g., floods, wildfires, tornadoes, hailstorms).
- Projects that help mitigate the effects of extreme weather and catastrophic weather events.
- Initiatives that build long-term climate resilience with measurable community-wide impact.
Examples of admissible projects:

Neighbourhood stormwater retrofits with rain gardens, permeable paving, and training

Clean-air wildfire smoke hub with filtration, backups, and youth training

Eligibility
- The project addresses a local challenge caused by extreme weather and explains how it will mitigate or adapt to those impacts.
- The project aligns with at least one pillar: Environmental Guardians, Community Protectors, or Youth Stewards.
- The project builds long-term climate resilience with measurable impact and broad community benefits.
- The project takes place in Canada and is completed within 12 months of receiving funding.
