How to apply
- Confirm eligibility: your property must be fully within the Uptown CIP Project Area, you must be a property owner, tenant, or authorized agent, and no project works may have started if you wish to claim them under the application.
- Email cip@waterloo.ca to book a pre-consultation with Economic Development staff; the meeting will confirm program and project eligibility, available funding, and whether permits or approvals may be required.
- Prepare supporting documents, including photos of existing conditions, concept drawings or plans where applicable, cost estimates, approved permits where applicable, studies or audits if required, and any heritage property documentation if applicable.
Processing and Agreement
- Applications are reviewed by City staff for completeness and eligibility.
- Staff may request additional information before a decision is made.
- Approved applicants receive the funding after project completion is verified.
- The City may inspect the property before approval and before payment.
