Voluntary Sector Knowledge Mobilization Support Grant 2025-2026

• Completed and signed CIHR Institute of Aging Voluntary Sector Knowledge Mobilization Support Grant Application Form.
• Detailed budget with justification for each item and a complete breakdown of fund allocation.
• Knowledge Mobilization Plan.
• One original signed Applicant Consent Form for Use and Disclosure of Personal Information Provided to CIHR for Peer Review.

Who is eligible?

• Registered charities or non-profit organizations in Canada.
• Eligible organizations include non-profit groups, health charities, non-governmental health policy regulators, and foundations.
• The Nominated Principal Applicant must be from the voluntary sector.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Consensus meetings, planning or development meetings, and networking and partnership development events.

• Alignment with at least one CIHR Institute of Aging Strategic Research Direction.
• Quality of the engagement strategy in the Knowledge Mobilization Plan to enhance knowledge on health and aging and foster partnerships that improve the health of Canadians, the health and social care system, or both, and its appropriateness for the target audience.
• Clarity, quality, and appropriateness of the planned knowledge products and activities to communicate health and aging research and its benefits to a specific targeted audience.
• Outcomes and impacts must be clearly defined, measurable, and well-articulated in the Knowledge Mobilization Plan.
• Applications will be funded from the top down in order of ranking.

• Review CIHR funding programs to ensure the request cannot be funded by an existing program.
• Obtain a CIHR Personal Identification Number (PIN) if needed.
• Complete all fields in the application form, obtain the required signatures, and save it.
• Encrypt the completed application form using a password.
• Email the signed application form to ariane.geerts@cihr-irsc.gc.ca, then send the password in a separate email to the same address.

• CIHR Institute of Aging will perform a relevance review to identify applications aligned with the objectives and research areas of the funding opportunity.
• Applications not deemed relevant will be withdrawn from the competition.
• The Nominated Principal Applicant will be required to submit a final report that includes a knowledge mobilization story for the CIHR Institute of Aging webpage.
• The Nominated Principal Applicant will be required to contribute to monitoring, review, and evaluation activities, including studies, surveys, workshops, audits, and providing data or reports as required.
