Who is eligible?
- Non-profit organizations.
- Academic institutions.
- Band councils.

- Private sector organizations sponsoring non-profit projects.
Eligible expenses
- Contract fees, including speaker contracts.
- Salaries for coordinators and facilitators.
- Supplies, materials, and services.
- Facility and audiovisual rental, including technology for virtual events.
- Reasonable hospitality for special events, travel, accommodation, incidental expenses for specialists when public health guidelines allow, and advertising.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Separate meal costs, unless they include speeches or presentations focused on victim awareness and services.
- Entertainment, alcohol, gifts, and souvenirs.
- Travel, accommodation, and incidental costs for participants in week activities or the national symposium.
- Commercial films and materials for screening or distribution.
- Capital expenditures, including equipment and buildings.
- Satellite events related to victims.
Selection criteria
- Geographic representation may be considered during the review process.
- A global review of proposals from a jurisdiction may be used to ensure variety, broad reach, and avoid duplication.
- Priority funding is given to organizations that do not already receive funding under the Victims Fund.
How to apply

- Review the funding guide and the Questions and Answers before starting the application.
- Complete the application form in full and explain how the activity supports the objectives of the program.
- Submit the application electronically to vwsdv@justice.gc.ca before the deadline.
Processing and Agreement
- If no confirmation email is received within five business days after electronic submission, the applicant must contact the department.
- Successful recipients must be registered for direct deposit with Justice Canada to receive payments.
- Funded recipients must send a final report and include electronic copies of the invitation or agenda.
