Who is eligible?

  • Currently serving members of the Royal Canadian Navy.
  • Currently serving CAF members in direct support of the RCN.
  • Regular Force members.
  • Reserve Force members.

Who is not eligible

  • Individuals who are not currently serving members of the RCN or eligible CAF personnel.
  • Applicants not submitted through the RCN chain of command.

Processing and Agreement

  • Nominations are reviewed after being submitted through the RCN chain of command.
  • The top nominations are forwarded to the RCNBF Award Committee.
  • The award is then adjudicated and the successful nominee is selected.
  • The recipient may receive the award during the Battle of the Atlantic commemoration.

Additional information

  • Nominations are submitted through the Royal Canadian Navy chain of command for endorsement.
  • No submissions are received directly by the Royal Canadian Naval Benevolent Fund.
  • The recipient donates the $5,000 prize to a qualified donee of their choice.
  • If possible, the award is presented during the Battle of the Atlantic commemoration.
