Who is eligible?

• Registered not-for-profit societies
• Local Sport Organizations affiliated and in good standing of a viaSport Designated Sport Organization
• Municipalities, Community Centres, Clubs, and Associations that directly deliver organized sport programs in their community
• Indigenous Bands or Community Associations
• viaSport Designated Sport Organizations may only apply in the Programming for Equity Deserving Groups category for community level programming

Who is not eligible

• Organizations that are not registered not-for-profit societies
• Organizations that do not directly deliver organized sport programs
• Programs offered only to an organization’s existing membership

Eligible expenses

• Coach, instructor, and official training
• Equipment purchase or refurbishment
• Program delivery costs tied to expanding participation

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Programs serving only existing members
• General operating expenses
• Tournaments, competitions, and athlete travel fees
• Capital expenditures such as renovation, construction, or computer equipment
• Political or religious activities

• British Columbia

• Merit of the application and scope of programming
• Ability to expand sport participation
• Projected impact and alignment with the fund’s purpose
• Sustainability and community partnership capacity
• Long-term participant development and qualified instructors

• Log in to start a new application and manage current grant applications.

• Applications are reviewed after submission by a panel of sport sector experts.
• Only eligible applications are reviewed.
• Funding decisions are based on the program’s assessment criteria and available funding.
• Applicants are notified of the outcome within four to six weeks after the submission deadline.

• Only one application per organization is accepted.
• Successful applicants may need to submit a post-grant report or survey.
• Approved awards are typically paid by direct deposit after the grant letter is signed.
• Unused project funds must be returned to viaSport.
