This funding provides up to $30,000 per year for up to four years to support programs helping single mothers overcome systemic and societal barriers. Eligible initiatives include activities that promote economic well-being, stability, access to essential supports and resources, and tailored support for vulnerable groups of single mothers in Canada.
Activities funded
- Career advancement, education, or training programs to improve economic well-being for single mothers
- Initiatives that reduce barriers to stability (e.g., childcare challenges, housing instability, access to affordable necessities)
- Programs that connect single mothers to supports and resources (e.g., mental health supports, legal assistance, access to healthcare)
- Targeted programming for vulnerable demographics of single mothers (e.g., young mothers, low-income households, physical or mental health challenges)

Documents Needed
Eligibility
- The organization must deliver programming that supports single mothers in overcoming systemic and societal barriers.
- The program’s objectives must align with at least one of the funder’s stated goals (economic well-being, family stability, access to supports/resources, or support for vulnerable demographics of single mothers).
- Programming must take place within Canada.
- The applicant organization must have been active and executing programming for a minimum of 12 months (except new programs from established charities).

- Charities delivering programs that support single mothers
- Established charities proposing a new program focused on single mothers
Who is not eligible
- New organizations that have not been active and executing programming for at least 12 months
- Charities that have applied for a grant with the funder within the past 2 years
- Organizations proposing programs focused on domestic violence
- Organizations proposing programs listed in the funder’s “Areas we do not fund”
