This funding supports one-time community projects aligned with United Way Central Alberta priorities, up to $7,500. Eligible activities include initiatives supporting basic needs, access to suitable mental health services, and positive futures through targeted project categories.

Activities funded

  • Projects that create positive futures with new possibilities.
  • Initiatives creating opportunities that strengthen youth and young adults who identify as 2SLGBTQIA+.
  • Innovative ideas that improve employment prospects or enable asset-building and financial security.
Examples of admissible projects:

Ten-week employment readiness program with coached applications and employer panel
$ 7,500
Eight-week financial literacy sprint with matched savings for asset building

Documents Needed

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be an eligible organization (qualified or non-qualified donee).
  • The proposed initiative must be a smaller, one-time project.
  • The project must align with at least one of United Way Central Alberta’s three priority areas.
  • The project must fit within at least one of the project grant categories identified by the program.
