Who is eligible?

• Ontario residents
• People aged 25 to 64
• People aged 24 and under with a private insurance plan

Who is not eligible

• People already covered by Ontario Drug Benefit
• People with insurance that pays 100% of drug costs
• Residents outside Ontario

Eligible expenses

• Eligible prescription drug costs covered under the Ontario Drug Benefit program.
• Some drugs covered through the Exceptional Access Program.
• Official prescription receipts for reimbursement of out-of-pocket covered drugs.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Prescription drugs bought outside Ontario.
• Drugs not listed on the Ontario Drug Benefit formulary and not approved through Exceptional Access.
• Cash register receipts, credit card receipts, and clinic or doctor invoices.

• Step 1: Complete the application
  • Fill out the Trillium Drug Program application online.
  • If needed, request a paper form by phone.
• Step 2: Submit the application
  • Send the completed form through the online portal or by mail.
  • Include required household and income information.
• Step 3: Wait for confirmation
  • The ministry reviews the application and confirms enrolment.
  • You receive a confirmation letter with your deductible.
• Step 4: Submit receipts for reimbursement
  • Upload or mail official prescription receipts and supporting documents.
  • Use the receipt submission form for eligible costs already paid.

• The ministry confirms household income and supporting information before enrolment is completed.
• A confirmation letter is issued after enrolment, including the yearly deductible.
• Enrolment renews automatically each year if requirements are met.
