Eligible expenses

• Eligible community improvement works related to façade, signage, landscaping, accessibility, parking, property conversion, planning applications, permits, and tax increment-related projects.
• Architectural or design fees required for eligible works.
• Planning application fees and building or sign permit fees, where applicable under the program.
• Infrastructure improvements related to eligible redevelopment projects.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Costs related to preparing or anticipating a CIP application.
• Pro-forma financial information and third-party financial review costs.
• Required studies and audits paid in relation to the application.
• Applications for the Tax Increment-Equivalent Grant combined with any other additional financial incentive.

• First-come, first-served processing order.
• Eligibility and requirements confirmed during the pre-application consultation.
• Compliance of the completed works with the approved plans.

• Step 1: Review program requirements
  • Read the Township of King Community Improvement Plan and the specific program requirements.
  • Confirm that the property is in the Community Improvement Project Area.
• Step 2: Attend pre-application consultation
  • Meet with the Administrator or Review Committee representative.
  • Confirm eligibility, scope of work, project timing, and required supporting documents.
• Step 3: Prepare the application
  • Complete the application form.
  • Attach the required supporting material and cost estimates.
  • Ensure all required signatures and authorizations are included.
• Step 4: Submit the application
  • Submit the complete application to the Township for review and approval.
  • Applications must be approved before starting works and before applying for planning or building permits, where applicable.
• Step 5: Sign the agreement if approved
  • Enter into the Financial Incentive Programs Agreement at the time of approval.

• Applications are reviewed by the Administrator on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Additional supporting material may be requested during processing.
• If approved, the applicant must sign the Financial Incentive Programs Agreement.
• The Township may refuse the grant or rebate if completed works do not match the approved plans.

• A pre-application consultation meeting is required before submission.
• Applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
• An agreement must be signed if the application is approved.
• Applications may be refused if the form is incomplete or requirements are not met.
