  • Applicants for projects outside the Community Improvement Project Area.
  • Applicants who started eligible work before applying.
  • Applicants on lands outside the Township’s Urban Boundary, where not specifically allowed.

Eligible expenses

  • Professional studies, plans, and drawings.
  • Façade, property, and building improvement works.
  • Rental housing construction or renovation costs.
  • Lighting equipment and professional installation.
  • Environmental remediation and related site work.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Studies done only for purchase or sale due diligence.
  • Retroactive work started before application approval.
  • Projects on lands outside the eligible area, except where specifically allowed.
  • Excavation, transport, or disposal of uncontaminated soil under Brownfield TAP.

  • Central Business Districts of Elora-Salem and Fergus.
  • Highway Commercial, Industrial, Mixed Use, Residential, Residential Transition, Prime Agriculture, Rural Employment Area, and Hamlet Area sub-areas.
  • St. Andrew Street West between Tower Street and St. David Street North in Fergus.
