Overview

This program provides funding of up to 100% of total project costs to support Canada’s just transition to net-zero residential building emissions by 2050. Eligible activities must fall under addressing barriers to energy-efficient technology adoption, capacity building for net-zero energy ready codes, or facilitating home energy labelling and disclosure to encourage deep energy retrofits.

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a legal entity incorporated or registered in Canada.
  • The project proposal must be submitted under one of the program’s eligible categories.
  • The project must support actions that facilitate a transition to net-zero residential building emissions by 2050.

  • For-profit organizations incorporated or registered in Canada
  • Not-for-profit organizations incorporated or registered in Canada
  • Provincial, territorial, regional, and municipal governments (and applicable departments/agencies)
  • Indigenous communities or governments
  • Community and environmental groups

Selection criteria

How to apply

  • Step 1: Choose submission path
    • Determine whether you will apply through Path 1 (all eligible recipients) or Path 2 (Indigenous organizations).
    • For Path 1, prepare to submit before the application deadline.
    • For Path 2, Indigenous organizations may submit starting at 8:00 Pacific Standard Time on September 21st and can continue until all program funds are allocated.
  • Step 2: Prepare project proposal
    • Develop a proposal under one of the eligible categories: addressing barriers to energy-efficient technology adoption; capacity building for net-zero energy ready codes; or facilitating home energy labelling and disclosure to encourage deep energy retrofits.
  • Step 3: Submit application package
    • Submit required documentation by email or by mail, as permitted by the program.

  • Projects support Canada’s “Just Transition” to net-zero residential building emissions by 2050.
  • A dedicated application stream is available for Indigenous organizations with intake open until program funds are fully allocated.
