Who is eligible?

Who is not eligible

  • Organizations that have not completed the terms of a previous contribution.
  • Projects mainly serving religious or political organizations.

Eligible expenses

  • Capital costs to acquire, construct, renew, rehabilitate, improve, or renovate an asset.
  • Other reasonable and necessary project costs approved for implementation.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Vacant land and related costs.
  • Licensed vehicles, except for public transportation projects.
  • Operating costs, including wages and salaries, except pilot projects.
  • Debt reduction, deficits, fundraising campaigns, legal fees, financing charges, interest, and merger costs.
  • Cash payments, donations of materials, equipment, or services, hospitality expenses, and volunteer labour costs.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are received, assessed, and evaluated by the Regional Development Corporation.
  • RDC may request a sector review from the relevant department when needed.
  • Projects that meet requirements are reviewed for consideration, but approval is not guaranteed.
  • The President of RDC approves initiatives, and projects over $500,000 go to Executive Council.
  • Approved applicants must allow site access and information verification.
