Tire-Derived Aggregate for Municipal Landfill Leachate Collection System

Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Companies operating an approved public municipal solid waste landfill on behalf of an authority

Eligible expenses

  • TDA production for approved projects
  • Partial delivery costs for TDA to the landfill site

  • All project costs not related to TDA production or delivery
  • Costs exceeding the applicant’s share of up to $20 per tonne

How to apply

  • Step 1: Complete the application form
    • Fill out the TDA application form with applicant, landfill, engineering, and project information.
    • Attach the landfill construction plan and storage area diagram.
  • Step 2: Submit to ARMA
    • Email the completed form to ARMA for review.
    • A Registered Processor may assist with submission.
  • Step 3: ARMA review and follow-up
    • ARMA acknowledges receipt and reviews the application.
    • ARMA may contact the applicant for additional details.
  • Step 4: Agreement and approval
    • Review and sign the Project Agreement once sent by ARMA.
    • Return the signed agreement to ARMA for final approval.

Processing and Agreement

  • ARMA reviews the submitted application and may request additional details.
  • ARMA confirms the processor’s ability to supply TDA before proceeding.
  • A project agreement is sent for review and signature by both parties.
  • Once the agreement is signed and conditions are met, ARMA approves the project and issues the executed agreement.
  • ARMA may arrange a teleconference with both parties after receiving the signed agreement.

Additional information

  • Projects may be approved for future landfill cells up to three years in advance.
  • TDA supply is allocated at ARMA’s discretion after approval.
  • Delivery is paid to the registered processor once the TDA is delivered and accepted.
  • Applicants must comply with applicable fire safety storage requirements when stockpiling TDA.
