Overview

The program provides up to $25,000 to support community initiatives that enhance well-being and help people in need. Eligible activities focus on learning and literacy, play and recreation, and broader community well-being, with multi-year funding available up to $25,000 per year for up to five years.

Eligibility

  • The project must focus on enhancing the lives of people in need, especially children, youth and their families, as well as persons with disabilities and seniors.
  • The initiative must align with at least one priority area: community well-being, learning and literacy, or play and recreation.
  • The program must operate in a geographic area where Sifton Properties Limited has employees (Southwestern Ontario).

Selection criteria

How to apply

Step 1: Prepare proposal letter
  • Draft a short proposal letter (1–2 pages).
Step 2: Submit letter of intent
  • Email the proposal letter to the Foundation for initial consideration.
Step 3: Complete full application if invited
  • Wait for an email invitation if the proposal is successful.
  • Complete the full online application process when invited.

Processing and Agreement

  • Submitted proposal letters are reviewed, generally within one week.
  • Selected organizations are invited by email to complete a full online application.
  • Full applications are considered in three annual cycles (March 1, July 1, October 1 invitations).
  • The Foundation board generally meets three times per year (May, September, December) to make granting decisions.

Additional information

  • Organizations where Sifton Properties employees volunteer may receive special consideration.
  • Preference may be given to smaller, community-based charities that utilize volunteers.
