Overview
The Knowledge Mobilization Initiative funds networks of well-established researchers or research teams and receptor communities with up to $400,000 per year for four years to mobilize knowledge for Canada. It supports collaborations between academia, industry, government and not-for-profit organizations, with activities focused on applying research results, knowledge transfer and networking.

Who is eligible?
- One or more researchers eligible to apply for funding under the policies and guidelines of at least one of CIHR, SSHRC or NSERC
- For NCE-KM networks, an academic researcher co-led with a non-academic knowledge user as a co-applicant
Who is not eligible
- Research networks without an eligible host institution
- Applicants not eligible under one of the three federal granting agencies
- Projects that are primarily research activities

How to apply
- Step 1: Prepare the letter of intent
- Complete the host institution letter.
- Fill out the LOI form and required sections.
- Attach support letters if applicable.
- Step 2: Submit the letter of intent
- Send the original hard copy and USB/PDF package to the Secretariat of the NCEs in Ottawa.
- Meet the published deadline.
- Step 3: Prepare the full application if invited
- Complete the detailed application package and supporting materials.
- Prepare the required signed hard copy and electronic PDF.
- Step 4: Submit the detailed application
- Upload the electronic version to the secure NCE portal.
- Mail the original unbound copy to Ottawa.
Processing and Agreement
- The NCE Secretariat runs periodic national competitions through which the NCE Steering Committee selects successful networks on the advice of a Standing Selection Committee.
- Prior to receiving payments of grant funds, all networks must sign a standardized Funding Agreement.
- Networks must sign a Network Agreement with any eligible organization receiving grant funds.
- Knowledge mobilization activities and the transfer of funds between the Network Host and Network Member may only occur once the Network Agreement has been signed.
- The Granting Agencies will review the Annual Report to confirm satisfactory progress and compliance with the NCE-KM Initiative.

- The NCE Secretariat will not be conducting any future calls for proposals for the NCE Program, the Knowledge Mobilization (NCE-KM) Initiative and the International Knowledge Translation Platforms (NCE-IKTP) Initiative.
