How to apply

  • Step 1: Prepare the nomination
    • Complete a one-page written narrative focused on the sergeant’s leadership achievements.
    • Use the nomination form and avoid obscure acronyms or terminology.
    • Obtain the required signatures from the chain of command.
  • Step 2: Submit the nomination
    • Forward the submission through the unit chain of command or through senior Gunners in the region/area.
    • Send the nomination directly to the Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant by 1 April.
  • Step 3: Internal review
    • The RHQ forwards submissions electronically to the RCA H&A Committee.
    • The committee reviews nominations and makes recommendations for Regular and Reserve Force recipients.
  • Step 4: Decision and announcement
    • The Regimental Colonel, with the RSM RCA, approves the recipients.
    • Recipients are announced on 26 May each year.

  • The committee makes recommendations for Regular and Reserve Force recipients.
  • The Regimental Colonel and RSM RCA approve the award recipients.
