Termite Management Subsidy Program

• Completed application form
• Termite inspection report from a Preferred Contractor
• Installation invoice and annual subscription plan registration
• Proof of payment for the initial exterior treatment installation
• Any other supporting documentation requested by the Township

Who is eligible?

• Property owners in Centre Wellington
• Residential property owners in eligible termite zones

Who is not eligible

• Tenants or non-owner applicants
• Properties outside the eligible termite zones without documented active termite activity
• Applicants with pending litigation against the Township

Eligible expenses

• Initial installation of Sentricon Bait Stations on the exterior of the property
• Burn permit costs, up to the stated maximum

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Annual subscription amounts
• Interior treatments
• Additional treatments
• Costs incurred before approval are not reimbursed if not eligible under the program

Eligible geographic areas

• Township of Centre Wellington
• Elora
• Fergus
• Red and blue termite zones identified in the Termite Survey Report

• Compliance with general and specific program requirements.
• Complete application and supporting documentation.
• Eligibility and subsidy amount assessed by Township staff committee.
• Subject to available budget funding.

• Step 1: Complete the application
  • Fill in the subsidy application form.
  • Gather the required supporting documents.
• Step 2: Submit the application
  • Submit the completed application through the Township process stated on the program webpage.
  • Include all supporting documentation with the submission.
• Step 3: Application review
  • The Township and its committee review the application and documents.
  • Missing information may be requested before a decision is made.
• Step 4: Decision and payment processing
  • Receive the approval or refusal decision.
  • Approved applications are forwarded for subsidy payment processing.

• Applications are reviewed by the Termite Management Review Committee and Township staff.
• Incomplete applications may be returned for correction.
• Eligibility and subsidy amount are determined after review of the completed application and supporting documents.
• Approval is made by the Managing Director of Corporate Services or Treasurer, subject to Council or delegate approval.
• If refused by the delegate, the applicant may appeal to Council within 30 days.
• Approved applications are sent for payment processing by Finance.

• Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to available funding.
• The program may be discontinued at any time without notice.
• Other government or non-profit funding must be declared and may reduce the subsidy on a pro-rated basis.
• The Township may inspect the property and request additional termite-related data.
