Sustainable Municipal Buildings

Supports energy-efficient municipal building projects
Latest source update
Last Update: April 27, 2026
Latest change: The Sustainable Municipal Buildings content now centers on the Green Buildings Pathway guidance document, with expanded study requirements, scenario planning, and performance targets.
View change
Green Buildings Pathway guidance updated
The content has shifted from a general program overview to a detailed Green Buildings Pathway guidance document for feasibility studies. It now sets out required scenarios, step-by-step study process requirements, best-practice energy targets, fossil fuel phase-out rules, water reduction expectations, and reporting requirements for municipal building retrofits. The scope is now more prescriptive for study preparation and performance analysis, including climate-zone-based EUI targets and required capital planning outputs. Contact details remain visible, but the main change is the much more detailed guidance for what a compliant study must include.
