Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Incorporated Canadian organizations

Who is not eligible

  • Canadian provincial, territorial, and municipal governments and their institutions, organizations and agencies.
  • Other Canadian government departments and crown corporations.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Flow-through funds.
  • Large capital expenditures or equipment leases of $100,000 or more per item.
  • Costs deemed by Global Affairs Canada to be ineligible for overhead compensation.

How to apply

  • Step 1
    • Review the call page and eligibility requirements.
    • Confirm the project fits the call parameters.
  • Step 2
    • Prepare the concept note and required supporting documents.
    • Complete the Logic Model and Local Partner information form.
    • Obtain the Organization Attestation and financial statements.
  • Step 3
    • Register or log in to Partners@International.
    • Create the proposal in the portal.
    • Upload all required documents.
  • Step 4
    • Validate the form and ensure all documents are complete.
    • Submit the package before the deadline.
    • Wait for the initial review and follow-up communication from Global Affairs Canada.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are first checked for eligibility.
  • Eligible concept notes are assessed on merit.
  • Only a limited number of organizations are invited to submit a full proposal.
  • Funding is decided after review of the full proposal and due diligence.
  • Applicants are notified if their application is ineligible or not selected.

  • The call was cancelled due to the situation in Ukraine.
  • Global Affairs Canada may fund up to 3 proposals.
  • Applicants should submit at least 3 working days before the deadline to avoid technical issues.
