Who is eligible?

  • Artists’ collectives
  • Arts organizations

Who is not eligible

  • Individuals, collectives or organizations that are ineligible for the program for which support for accessibility costs is requested or was requested within the current year
  • Artists’ collectives incorporated as a for-profit or not-for-profit company, a general partnership, or an association
  • Cultural periodicals published for less than one year, publishing fewer than three issues per year, or distributed free of charge
  • Organizations dedicated to teaching, education, and professional training
  • Public or para-public organizations representing governments or municipal corporations

Eligible expenses

  • Accessibility costs to submit a grant application or apply for a Conseil award
  • Accessibility costs related to delivering a project funded by the Conseil
  • Accessibility costs related to receiving audiences for a project funded by the Conseil

Selection criteria

  • Priority is given to projects that directly support artists who are D/deaf or living with a disability.
  • Applications are assessed for a reasonable budget.
  • Applications are assessed for a direct link between the funding provided and the successful completion of the project.
  • Available funds are considered in the evaluation.
  • Priority is given to providing direct support to artists under Components 1 and 2.

Processing and Agreement

  • The Conseil typically takes eight to ten weeks from the application date to process the application and reach a decision.
