Who is eligible?

• Commercial art galleries
• For-profit businesses specializing in contemporary art commerce

Who is not eligible

• Non-profit organizations
• Businesses whose main activity is not contemporary art commerce
• Applicants without a permanent public exhibition space

Eligible expenses

• Exhibition presentation and promotion costs
• Framing, setup, vernissage, advertising, and publishing costs
• Promotion tools such as catalogues, leaflets, and websites
• Other costs considered essential to the project

Ineligible Costs and Activities

• Gallery operating costs such as rent, telephone, salaries, and security
• Capital expenditures
• Activities that do not directly support art market promotion, such as museum-style exhibitions or biennials

Eligible geographic areas

• Quebec

• Applications are reviewed by SODEC professionals, and external opinions may be used if needed.
• The first installment is paid after the application review.
• The second installment is paid after the application is closed and approved.
• Recipients must provide a use-of-funds report before submitting a new application under the same program.

• Applications must be submitted in French.
• The program uses the SOD@ccès secure online portal.
• Approved recipients must mention SODEC’s contribution in public materials and use the current SODEC logo.
• Beneficiaries may need to provide records and information for SODEC program evaluations for five years.
