Overview

This funding supports non-profit organizations serving youth aged 11 to 18 to help prevent psychological distress and related risks. A maximum of $20,000 per request is available for initiatives aligned with specified focus areas such as mental health, bullying and violence, school dropout prevention, and social exclusion.

Activities funded

  • Mental health and suicide prevention initiatives for youth aged 11 to 18.
  • Programs addressing multiple dependencies among adolescents.
  • Initiatives to prevent ill treatment, bullying, and violence involving teens.
  • School dropout prevention activities for at-risk youth.
  • Actions addressing social exclusion and poverty affecting adolescents.
Examples of admissible projects:

Eligibility

  • The applicant must be a non-profit organization.
  • The organization must work with youth aged 11 to 18.
  • The organization’s work must focus on preventing psychological distress among youth.
  • The organization must operate in at least one of the program’s specified intervention fields.
  • The organization must work in one of the eligible regions.

  • Youth-focused community organizations working in mental health, addiction prevention, violence prevention, school retention, or social inclusion.

  • Approximately 20 organizations are supported each year.
  • Funding is raised through the Mayor’s Ball in Quebec City and the BN Grand Tour.
  • Application forms are available in French only.
