The Indigenous Arts profile page now shows updated program visibility and deadline information, including one expiry date changing from May 13, 2026 to October 2, 2026 and another program shown with an October 21, 2026 deadline. Support for Indigenous collectives and organizations provides up to $15,000 for First Nations, Inuit or Métis collectives and organizations located within 50 km of the Island of Montreal, including Kahnawà:ke and Kanehsatá:ke. Who is eligible?
- Indigenous collectives whose primary mandate is to create, produce and disseminate art works or provide support for these types of projects
- Indigenous organizations whose primary mandate is to create, produce and disseminate art works or provide support for these types of projects
Who is not eligible
- Indigenous collectives or organizations whose main mandate is not dedicated to artistic creation and production
- Artists’ collectives incorporated as a for-profit or non-profit company, or as a general or limited partnership
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Project completed before receiving the Conseil’s decision, approximately six to eight weeks following the application deadline
- Sound recording projects of a promotional nature, including albums, CDs and demos
- Film or web film production projects
- Projects that are essentially promotional, including video clips
- Projects whose main focus is cultural mediation, national or international prospection, or capital projects or specialized equipment

Selection criteria
- Artistic merit (60%): relevance of artistic process and practices, uniqueness and authenticity of the approach, and quality of previous work
- Project impact (20%): strategies for reaching audiences, connection to Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, and expected benefits for artists, the public and partners
- Project feasibility (20%): ability of the collective or organization to complete the project, presentation of the key steps involved, and realistic budget estimates
Processing and Agreement
- The Cultural Advisor - Indigenous Arts receives and confirms the application’s eligibility.
- The Indigenous peer evaluation committee evaluates the applications and makes its recommendation.
- The Indigenous Arts Committee proposes the allocation of grant amounts and makes recommendations to the board of directors.
- The board of directors makes the final decision and awards the funding.
- The representative receives an email invitation to view the results on the ORORA platform; the grant amount is provided in one payment (100%) after the decision letter has been sent, and an end-of-project report must be submitted through ORORA within three (3) months of the end of the project.
Additional information
- Only one application may be submitted per year.
- First Nations and Indigenous organizations, as well as collectives whose coordinator is from an Indigenous community, can submit an application in English; the form questions remain in French.
- The representative for the collective or organization receives an email invitation to view the results on the ORORA platform, and no decisions are communicated by phone.
- The Conseil’s decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
