- Festival duration between 5 and 35 days.
- Ability to demonstrably attract international tourists from outside Canada.
- Free programming component for the general public.
- Comprehensive marketing strategy that includes international promotion.
Who is eligible?
- Festival organizations operating events lasting between 5 and 35 days.
- Festivals with free public programming and an international marketing component.
Who is not eligible
- Cultural productions such as large-scale shows or theatre pieces.
- Exhibits, congresses, conferences and trade shows that are not considered festivals.
Ineligible Costs and Activities
- Fees for artists, including street performers.
- On-site signage expenditures.
- Parking-related expenses.
- Security, maintenance and logistics costs.
- Promotional or tie-in products and general operating costs of the organization.
Eligible geographic areas
- City of Montréal.
- City of Laval.
- Agglomération de Longueuil.
- Regional county municipalities of Marguerite-D’Youville, Roussillon, Les Jardins-de-Napierville, Le Haut-Saint-Laurent, Beauharnois-Salaberry, Vaudreuil-Soulanges, L’Assomption, Les Moulins, Deux-Montagnes, Thérèse-De Blainville and the City of Mirabel.

- Festival season.
- Uniqueness and originality of the festival.
- Media reach and visibility.
- Economic impacts of the festival.
- Financial capacity, eco-friendliness and safety of the festival.
Additional information
- CED’s financial assistance must complement funding from other sponsors.
- Funding is linked to demonstrated international tourist traffic through a traffic study.
- Festivals must provide details on their corporate structure and governance.
- Information on internal and subcontracted activities is required to determine if support can be non-repayable.
