  • Registered Canadian charities registered with the Canada Revenue Agency.

  • Political groups.
  • Religious groups.
  • Social clubs.
  • Individuals.

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Political groups.
  • Religious groups.
  • Social clubs.
  • Needs for an individual, including food, clothing, and housing.
  • Rehabilitation programs for any form of addiction.
  • Vacation camps, trips, and excursions.
  • Amateur and elite sports competitions.
  • Website creation or development.
  • Annual fundraising campaigns for regional and national organizations.
  • Deficit financing.
  • Sponsorships.

Eligible geographic areas

  • Administrative regions of Montreal (06) and Laval (13) are not supported, unless they serve clients in other regions.
  • Quebec regions, particularly Centre-du-Québec.

Selection criteria

  • Preference is given to organizations that work in regions outside the metropolitan area.
  • Preference is given to organizations that collaborate with other organizations in their community.
  • Preference is given to requests that involve more than one funder.
  • Preference is given to requests of $5,000 to $20,000, especially first-time requests.

How to apply

  • Complete the short pre-application form before February 15 or August 15 to check eligibility.
  • If eligible, complete and submit the full form electronically before March 15 or September 15.

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are first screened through a pre-application form.
  • Eligible applicants receive the full form and the list of documents to submit.
  • Full applications must be submitted electronically by the stated deadline.
  • Incomplete files are not considered.
  • Applications are reviewed by the granting committee twice a year.
  • Final decisions are sent electronically in May and November.

  • Applications are reviewed twice a year, in the spring and fall.
  • The Foundation accepts only one funding request per year from an organization.
