  • Training, outreach, knowledge mobilization, and dissemination costs

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Salary or compensation for the principal investigator or any independent academic researcher
  • General overhead and project management costs
  • Building renovation or construction and standard office or laboratory furniture
  • Basic laboratory utilities and routine institutional research support services
  • Intellectual property protection costs and non-brain-related expenses

Processing and Agreement

  • Registration forms are screened for admissibility and relevance.
  • Eligible applicants are invited to submit a detailed application.
  • Detailed applications are reviewed by at least two external peer reviewers.
  • High-scoring applications are discussed by the review committee and recommended for funding by merit order.
  • Funding is awarded until the allocated funds are exhausted, and the decision is final.
