Who is eligible?

  • Parent(s) or legal guardian living in Huron County.
  • Parent(s) or legal guardian of a child under 12 in licensed child care or approved home child care.
  • Parent(s) or legal guardian of a school-age child enrolled in an approved recreation program.
  • Parent(s) or legal guardian who is employed full or part time, in an educational or training program, in an employment assistance activity approved under Ontario Works, or the parent of a special needs child (medical, delays in development, social and emotional concerns) referred by a professional working with the family.

Who is not eligible

  • Families outside Huron County.
  • Applicants who do not meet the income-based eligibility requirements.
  • Families not participating in an approved activity.

  • Child care costs for licensed child care centres.
  • Child care costs for approved home child care providers.
  • Fees for approved recreation programs for school-age children.

  • Complete and submit an online application through OneHSN Childcare Connect.
  • Provide information about you and your family on the application form once your account has been created.
  • For child care fee subsidy applications, call Huron County Social & Property Services at 1-888-371-5718.

Processing and Agreement

  • You will receive a notice every month reminding you to log in and ensure your information is correct and your applications reflect your needs.
  • If you do not log in after 90 days, your account will be automatically disabled.
  • The child care provider will contact you when a space becomes available.
