- Apparel, debts, gifts, loans, gambling, alcohol, drugs, cannabis, and lawyer fees.
- Future hardship or needs not caused by an emergency that has already happened.
- Medical expenses, funeral expenses, family support, and costs covered by insurance.

Processing and Agreement
- Applications are assessed after the bursary closes.
- Applicants receive a decision email to their TMU email address.
- If approved, the bursary committee decides the disbursement method.
- Successful recipients must submit proof of spending within 30 calendar days.
- If proof is not provided on time, the bursary amount is reversed and added to the student account.
