MCoS Strategic Initiatives Investment Guidelines support MCoS non-profit organization members and schools to implement programming that contributes to MCoS' Ends. - Cultural Continuity activities that retain, maintain and evolve distinctive cultural practices and traditions in the Canadian context.
- Celebration of Diversity activities that include education and festivals showcasing differences and similarities.
- Anti-Racism activities that address power, privilege, discrimination, equity, and justice.
- Intercultural Connections activities such as exchanges, pen pals, cooperative work, safe spaces, dialogue, and creative projects.
- Integration activities that help community members feel reflected, valued, and able to access services appropriately.

Selection criteria
- Priority is placed on initiatives that demonstrate a deeper understanding, acceptance and demonstration of multicultural values.
- Applications should clearly demonstrate a connection between the activities and the impact they have on the objectives.
- Applications should include an evaluation plan to measure the achievement of those objectives.
How to apply
- Submit applications by February 15 and September 15 annually.
- Apply in September if activities will take place or begin before March 31 the following year.
- Apply in February if activities will take place or begin before October.
- Submit the application electronically by email to grants@mcos.ca and copy mcos@mcos.ca.
Processing and Agreement
- Upon submission, you will receive a confirmation email acknowledging receipt of your application.
- If you do not receive this confirmation within a week after submission or the closing date, please reach out to mcos@mcos.ca.
- Funding allocations for all organizations that have submitted an application with all required documents will be decided following each deadline.
- Final reports are due 30 days after activity is complete, no later than May 1.
- The first payment is 75% upon approval and the second payment is 25% following receipt of the final report.
