Overview
Podium Manufacturier is a STIQ improvement program for Quebec manufacturing SMEs that want to increase performance, efficiency, competitiveness, and supply-chain strength. The program combines an organizational and management DiagnoSTIQ, an action plan based on company priorities, flexible support for improvement projects with external experts, and training or knowledge-sharing activities. STIQ describes the program as supporting 70 to 80 manufacturing-company diagnostics, more than 160 improvement projects, and $6.2 million invested in projects. The support is intended to help SMEs improve governance, operations, planning, workforce development, and positioning in local and international markets while encouraging local manufacturing purchases in Quebec.

How to apply
Interested companies should review the Podium Manufacturier eligibility and contact STIQ to request an evaluation. The French program page names Pierre-Laurent Boudrias as the contact and provides STIQ phone contact information. Once engaged, the process begins with a DiagnoSTIQ: a STIQ adviser visits the plant and offices, meets employees and managers, and uses a questionnaire covering procurement, production, quality management, human resources, financial resources, business organization, research and engineering, and sales and marketing. STIQ then analyzes the results, benchmarks them against similar companies, and provides a report with strengths, improvement opportunities, and action priorities. The company and STIQ then define priority improvement projects, choose external resources, implement training or coaching, and follow results with the STIQ adviser.
