The STEP Program eligibility rules changed: buildings may now participate if they were constructed more than 20 years ago, replacing the previous before-1990 rule, and eligible properties must be three or more storeys with a minimum of seven units. The program description also now refers to support for improving the living environment for residents, and the building performance scope expands from five key areas to six by adding waste to energy, water, operations, safety, and community.
