  • The résumés of each team member responsible for managing the project and key technical personnel
  • Proof of incorporation or registration and a copy of the document(s) confirming the legal name of the applicant
  • Letters from other organisations with a major participation in project execution, if applicable; letters of interest, demonstrating interest in the outcomes of the project, if applicable
  • The Declaration on Confidentiality, Access to Information Act and Privacy Act form signed by the duly authorized representative; the M-30 Supporting documentation form for organizations in Quebec; the Bill-18 Supporting Documentation form for organizations in Alberta

Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • For-profit organizations established and operating in Canada
  • Not-for-profit organizations established and operating in Canada

Who is not eligible

  • Academic institutions

Eligible expenses

  • Acquisition or rental of equipment including software, data acquisition, consultant services, and laboratory analysis services
  • Material and supplies
  • Overhead (administrative) costs, not to exceed 15% of project eligible costs
  • Salaries and benefits, with real salary rates and benefits of up to 20% of the admissible salary
  • Travel expenses including accommodation and related meal allowances; taxes for goods and services acquired in a foreign country net of any rebate or reimbursement received in the foreign country

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Applications related to developing earth observation data processing solutions, eligible through CSA's smartEarth initiative
  • Development of space-related medical technologies; development of prospecting and In Situ Resource Utilization (ISRU) related technologies; development of space-related food production technologies; development of space-related life support systems
  • Technologies already funded by CSA through another contract, contribution, or grant
  • Projects aiming at TRLs higher than TRL-6

  • Project Strategy (50% of the overall score)
  • Project Innovation (Maximum: 20 points)
  • Project Implementation (Maximum: 30 points)
  • Post-Project Strategy (50% of the overall score)
  • Market Assessment, Roadmap to product deployment, Benefit to the applicant, and Benefit to Canadian Space Sector

How to apply

  • Register your intent to submit an application using the Registration Portal no later than February 6, 2026
  • Use the Proposal title format STDP AO10.3_Name Of Organization_Short project name and enter the contact person information in the Applicant section
  • After the request is submitted, an email will confirm registration and provide credentials for document submission; confirmation is expected within three business days
  • Submit the application by March 13, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. (ET)

Processing and Agreement

  • Acknowledgment of receipt within 5 business days of application submission
  • Funding decision within 16 weeks of AO closing date
  • Contribution agreement sent for signature within 4 weeks after formal approval
  • Payment issued within 6 weeks after fulfilling agreement requirements
  • Recipients must keep project records for 6 years after project completion
