How to apply
- Receive the damage report forwarded by the responsible officer and verify that the information is complete and accurate.
- Request a repair or demolition permit from the municipality.
- Forward the permit to the officer responsible for the file.
- Return the completed and signed choice form by all of the building's owners within the 30 days following the date shown on the ministry's letter, unless an extension is justified in writing.
- Before work begins, submit to the ministry at least two quotes from qualified contractors as well as the necessary permits and authorizations; if the land is transferred, add the transfer offer and the municipal resolution.
- At the end of the work, submit the municipal attestation, the demolition invoices, and the notarized deed proving the transfer of the land, if applicable.

- When the damage report is produced by the Ministry of Internal Security, the case officer sends you a copy.
- After the municipality receives the permit, you must send it to the case officer so the financial assistance can be determined based on the permit issued.
- You can request a review of a decision within 2 months of receiving the Ministry of Internal Security’s decision.
