Eligibility
- The applicant must be a federally or provincially/territorially incorporated not-for-profit organization in good standing.
- The organization must be recognized as the single national governing body for its sport by the relevant International Federation (or the International Paralympic Committee for Paralympic sports), or be a member of a recognized Canadian umbrella organization serving this purpose.
- The organization must deliver programs and services on a nationwide scale, extending beyond any single province or territory.

- Federally incorporated not-for-profit organizations recognized as National Sport Organizations
- Provincially or territorially incorporated not-for-profit organizations recognized as National Sport Organizations
Who is not eligible
- For-profit businesses and corporations.
- Unincorporated organizations or informal groups.
- Companies whose primary activities are not related to national sport organizations as defined by the program.
- Organizations whose programs do not operate nationwide.
- Entities not recognized as the single governing body for their sport at the national or international level.

How to apply

Confirm organizational eligibility
- Ensure your organization is federally or provincially/territorially incorporated and in good standing
- Verify that your organization meets the definition of a National Sport Organization (NSO)

Request application package
- Contact the Department of Canadian Heritage to request an application package
- Obtain the official Application Form and guidelines

Prepare application documents
- Complete the Application Form in accordance with the instructions
- Prepare all required supporting documents
- Include proof of incorporation
- Include independently audited or board-approved financial statements with auditor’s letter for the past fiscal year
- Include business plan or strategic plan, and operational plan (or equivalents)

Assemble and review application package
- Assemble the completed Application Form and all required documents into a complete application package
- Review the package to ensure all requirements are met

Submit application package
- Email the complete application package to contributionssportcanada@pch.gc.ca
- Ensure submission by December 11, 2024, before 11:59 pm local time

Await application review
- Wait for confirmation of receipt from the Department of Canadian Heritage
- Monitor communications for updates or requests for additional information
Additional information
- The application package must include proof of incorporation, financial statements, a business or strategic plan, and an operational plan.
- Applications must be submitted by email no later than 11:59 pm local time on the deadline date.
- Guides are available for application preparation, acknowledging financial support, and meeting funding requirements for coaching and technical leadership salaries.
- Agents are available to answer questions Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm (ET).
