Who is eligible?

  • Federally or provincially/territorially incorporated not-for-profit organizations
  • National sport organizations
  • National multisport services organizations
  • Canadian Sport Centres and designated COPSIN members
  • Indigenous governments, communities, and Indigenous not-for-profit organizations

Who is not eligible

  • Organizations that are not incorporated as not-for-profit bodies
  • Provincial/territorial Aboriginal Sport Bodies and the Aboriginal Sport Circle under SSDIC Stream Two and Three
  • Organizations outside the definition of the relevant program component
  • Organizations whose mandate is outside regulated sport or national sport system development

  • Project planning, delivery, and evaluation costs
  • Travel, facility rental, equipment, and training activities
  • Translation, promotion, and reporting-related costs

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • High-performance sport and athlete development activities
  • Capital costs such as buildings, land, construction, or renovation
  • Fundraising activities and gifts cards
  • Medals, trophies, awards, incentives, and banquets
  • Personal items and individual grants or scholarships

Processing and Agreement

  • Applications are reviewed for eligibility after the deadline.
  • Eligible applications are assessed and may be reviewed by an external committee.
  • Funding recommendations are made, but approval is not guaranteed.
  • Applicants are notified of decisions and, if approved, must sign a funding agreement.
  • Interim and final reports may be required during and after the project.
