Activities funded
- Restore salmon habitat in estuaries through soft-shore initiatives (e.g., eelgrass beds, saltwater marsh benches).
- Modify in-stream habitat to improve productivity (e.g., large woody debris structures, spawning gravel placement, bank stabilization).
- Construct side channels and other off-channel habitat (e.g., spawning/rearing channels or ponds, ox-bow reconnection, dike breaching).
- Restore fish passage (e.g., culvert removal or replacement, remediation of migration barriers).
- Restore and protect wetlands, riparian, and upland habitat (e.g., land acquisition, riparian revegetation, conservation easements).

Eligibility
- The project concept must support implementation of the Pacific Salmon Treaty.
- The proposal must align with Southern Fund activities such as improving information, restoring habitat, or enhancing wild stock production.
- The proposal should align with the Southern Fund Strategic Goals and Objectives outlined in the SFC Strategic Plan.
