Funding of up to $50,000 supports socially innovative research projects in New Brunswick. Eligible activities include research that targets economic impact, quality-of-life improvement, or interventions addressing complex environmental or social problems in the province.
Activities funded
- Socially innovative research projects with economic impact in New Brunswick (direct or indirect).
- Research projects that measure improvements to quality of life for New Brunswickers or specific communities or groups in the province.
- Research-based interventions addressing complex environmental issues impacting New Brunswick.
- Research-based interventions addressing complex social problems in New Brunswick with direct or indirect costs to the provincial government.

Eligibility
- The proposal must be a socially innovative research project.
- The research must aim to impact the province of New Brunswick.
- The project must align with at least one stated impact area (economic impact, quality of life improvement, environmental intervention, or social problem intervention with costs to the provincial government).
- The project must begin within six months of the official award date.
- The project must be completed within a maximum of two years.
