Eligibility

Who is eligible?

  • Registered charities providing assistance to income-qualified persons
  • Housing providers such as local governments, housing societies, housing co-ops, and Indigenous governing bodies
  • Commercial FortisBC gas customers
  • Commercial electricity customers of FortisBC or municipal providers

Eligible expenses

  • Energy studies and feasibility studies
  • Implementation support for retrofit project management, specifications, and documentation
  • Rebates for eligible energy conservation measures and retrofit equipment

Ineligible Costs and Activities

  • Contractor installation costs, which are separate from implementation support funding.
  • Variable speed drive soft-start-only applications.
  • Retrofit measures that do not meet the listed product or technical requirements.

How to apply

  • Step 1: Contact your key account manager
    • Request an application through FortisBC.
    • If your project is electricity-only and located in BC Hydro’s service area, contact your BC Hydro key account manager.
  • Step 2: Prepare the required materials
    • Work with an approved engineering consultant where required.
    • Prepare the energy study or feasibility study proposal if applicable.
  • Step 3: Submit the application and project materials
    • Submit the completed application and supporting materials for review.
    • Provide the completed energy study when applying for study funding.
  • Step 4: Await approval
    • Funding and rebates are available only after approval.
