Overview
This program provides micro grants and strategic support to help social service organizations launch and scale mission-driven social enterprises. Funding can support early-stage needs like registration, pilot projects, and staffing, as well as growth supports such as marketing, technology, and process optimization.
Activities funded
- Launching a new or early-stage mission-driven social enterprise
- Testing and delivering pilot projects for a social enterprise
- Scaling and sustaining an established social enterprise
- Building organizational capacity through workshops, coaching, or mentorship
- Strengthening operations through marketing, technology, or process optimization
Examples of admissible projects:
$ 9,000
Pilot a subsidized meal program paired with youth job training
$ 18,000
Expand a refurbishment social enterprise to create paid training jobs
Documents Needed
Eligibility
- The applicant must be a social service organization developing and growing a mission-driven venture (social enterprise).
- The social enterprise must be new, emerging, or mid-stage in its life cycle.
- The organization must deliver social programs and/or services in a community served by Valley First.

- Two program streams are offered: Launch & Build and Scale & Sustain.
- Applicants selected will be notified by December 9.
- The fund is guided by Sustainable Development Goals, including Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-Being, Quality Education, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Reduced Inequalities, and Climate Action.
