Overview

This program offers financial assistance covering the majority of the direct project costs, requiring a minimum contribution of 10% from the organization. It supports initiatives that develop or improve tools, services, and training aimed at facilitating and accelerating the recognition of skills acquired abroad by immigrant individuals.

Activities funded

  • Development of supplementary training, in person or online, leading to the practice of a profession or trade in Quebec.
  • Development of tools, services and training to reduce the length of required internships and improve the recognition of skills.
  • Design of guides, self-study tools and preparation materials for exams required by professional orders.
  • Implementation of tools for assessing education and experience acquired abroad, including validation exams and internships.
  • Creation of platforms, web content and information tools explaining the skills recognition process to immigrants.

  • Duly completed financial assistance application form.
  • Project implementation plan accompanied by the budget.

  • Belong to one of the categories of organizations defined by the program.
  • Propose a project that meets the objectives of recognizing the skills of immigrants.

Who is eligible?

  • Organizations governing access to a profession or trade in Québec.
  • Organizations governing access to an industry that includes regulated professions or trades.
  • Educational institutions and school service centres.
  • Sectoral workforce committees (CSMO).
  • Associations or groups of employers, non-profit organizations and cooperatives compatible with the objectives of the program.

Eligible expenses

  • Direct costs related to the implementation of the skills recognition project.

Eligible geographic areas

  • Businesses and organizations located in Québec (all administrative regions).

How to apply

  • Step 1: Project preparation
    • Define the project in connection with the objectives of skills recognition.
    • Complete the project implementation plan and the budget using the provided template.
  • Step 2: Fill out the form
    • Complete the financial assistance application form provided for the program.
    • Attach the project implementation plan to the application.
  • Step 3: Submission of the application
    • Submit the financial assistance application and its supporting documents to the Ministry during the specified application period.

Additional information

  • Funded agreements have a maximum duration of three years.
  • The final year of the project must be dedicated to monitoring and evaluation.
  • Applications are accepted from April 1, 2024, to January 31, 2025.
