Simply Organic Giving Fund Grant

• Organization’s current operating budget, including both revenue and expense detail
• Documentation verifying nonprofit status for Canadian applicants if manual email submission is required

Who is eligible?

• Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations or the Canadian equivalent of tax-exempt charitable status
• Organizations based in and serving communities in the United States or Canada
• Nonprofit organizations working directly in their communities to reduce hunger and improve food access
• Organizations that operate programs providing or distributing food directly to individuals and families in need

Who is not eligible

• Primarily religiously affiliated organizations
• Politically motivated organizations
• Organizations that require participation in religious activities

Eligible expenses

• Food purchases
• Program staff salaries and benefits
• Food preparation and distribution costs
• Transportation
• Equipment necessary for program delivery and other direct expenses essential to providing access to nutrient-dense organic food

• How closely the program aligns with the mission and priorities of the Simply Organic Giving Fund, including increasing access to organic, nutrient-dense food for individuals and families experiencing food insecurity
• Demonstrated potential to produce measurable, meaningful impact within the target population, with clear outcomes and defined KPIs reported during mid-term and final evaluations
• Evidence of need and appropriateness of the proposed solution, grounded in credible data, research, and/or community-level context
• Clarity and appropriateness of budget and timeline, including whether requested funds are justified, reasonable, and aligned with the scope and scale of the proposed work
• Strength of organizational capacity, including experience, track record, and ability to successfully implement and sustain the proposed program, as well as evidence of diversified funding and financial sustainability beyond Simply Organic Giving Fund support

• Review all grant guidelines before completing the application
• Submit the application online at https://www.simplyorganic.com/giving-back-2 between July 1, 2026 and August 14, 2026 at 4:00 PM CT
• Canadian nonprofit organizations that encounter the 501(c)(3) validation limitation must complete the application and email SOGrants@FrontierCoop.com so the Simply Organic Giving Fund team can manually submit it on their behalf, with required documentation verifying nonprofit status attached

• Applicants will be notified in December 2026
• Awarded applicants sign grant contracts on December 31, 2026, followed by distribution of funds
• Grant awards are distributed in two equal installments, the first in January 2027 and the second in January 2028, unless an alternate disbursement schedule is requested and approved in the proposal
• Year two funding is contingent upon the timely submission of a mid-term evaluation reflecting progress on the success metrics outlined in the original application
• Mid-term reports are due January 15, 2028, and final reports are due January 15, 2029

• Grant recipients are featured in Simply Organic Giving Fund celebrations.
