Who is eligible?
- People aged 65 to 64 years or older who may need to apply if they were not automatically enrolled.
- People who are eligible for Old Age Security.

- Applicants who are not 65 or older.
- Households not receiving GIS.
- People who are not the water bill account holder.
- Properties that are not the applicant's personal residence.

How to apply
- Call 1-800-277-9915 or visit a Service Canada office to activate notifications and alerts.
- Sign in to Mon dossier Service Canada and open the profile section.
- Choose Gérer la destination de mes paiements to update banking information.
- For a paper application, choose and complete the correct form, then submit it by mail.
Processing and Agreement
- Service Canada reviews the benefit annually using the federal income tax return.
- In July, the applicant receives a letter confirming whether the benefit is renewed, stopped, started, resumed, or whether additional income information is required.
- If the payment is not received in July, the applicant must call Service Canada and be ready to provide the required personal and income information.
- Payment may stop during a federal prison sentence of 2 years or more and resumes in the same month the person is released.

- The credit is non-refundable.
- If eligibility changes during the year, the credit is prorated.
- Applicants must agree to notify the City if they are no longer eligible.
- Verification may be requested after application submission.
